What kinds of trends are defining the finer dynamics of security business in India? How do you look into the future of Internet security?
Today, India is third among Internet users. It will see an exponential growth in IP traffic in the next two years. So the spend on IT security would depend on the business model rather than the size of the company. Secondly, over the last decade the investment on IT security has been more focused on prevention rather than detection and resolution. However, with threats getting complex and sophisticated every day, the implementation of a stronger security system has made its way to the priority list of companies.
The number of organizations that store and access confidential and business-critical data in digital form on computer networks or over the Internet has increased dramatically. A lot of things will shape the future of Internet Security such as mobile devices, social media, software vulnerabilities, cyber espionage and the Internet-of-Things. Futuristic security should protect the confidentiality of such data and deal with multi-faceted attacks as “blended threats.”
What are the major challenges before you in increasing sales and how are you addressing these challenges?
Since the offerings of various IT security companies are largely undifferentiated, price plays a crucial role in consumer selection. But technology doesn’t come cheap. The increasing complexity of attacks and the noticeably growing risk scenario, requires solutions that can detect and prevent. Internet of Things is another reason for increasing prices. Quick Heal is comparatively an efficient and cost-effective product. Our tech support and customer service is exceptional. This creates a lot of brand loyalty. Our sales processes are also technology efficient. We try to create a lot of awareness and support our sales with effective marketing on both online and offline platforms.
How are you enabling your channel to earn more profits?
We invest in our channel partners’ success. We provide an uninterrupted supply chain, quality products, marketing materials and cobranded advertising to generate brand pull. Our communication channels are clear, and we address grievances and concerns in a timely manner. In our case, partner goodwill is also generated because of our exceptional tech support and training. Our incentives are also best in the industry.
What are your future plans with regards to launching new security solution in the country?
We have recently launched our Enterprise security Solutions brand – Seqrite. Here the focus is on widening the product offerings. These offerings are not restricted to integrated solutions but are aimed at newer delivery platforms such as appliance, cloud and service based models. The Internet-of-Things (IoT) is also an area that we have started exploring.
