WatchGuard Technologies has been named a “Champion,” and has been awarded the “Value” and “Trend Setter” awards for its XTM Series in Info-Tech Research Group’s 2014 NGFW (Next Generation Firewall) Vendor Landscape Report. The report highlights WatchGuard’s company and product strengths around features, usability, affordability, architecture, channel, reach, strategy and viability.
The report notes, “WatchGuard’s XTM series offers the best bang-for-your-buck with an affordable price for a solid and scalable product. Its affordability is unprecedented in this evaluation. The XTM firewall can provide reports from different levels (executive dashboard, security dashboard, threat map, etc.), and each dashboard includes various components that are clickable to provide detailed event information in an attractive way – a differentiator amongst its competitors.”
“We continue to push the limits in security reporting, we continue to add best-of-breed technology to our platforms, and we continue to give customers incredible value with our solutions,” said Dave R Taylor, Vice President of corporate strategy and product management at WatchGuard. “It’s great to see Info-Tech Research Group recognize our advanced features, value, and scalability.”
For this Vendor Landscape, Info-Tech Research Group evaluated ten vendors that offer broad capabilities across multiple platforms, and that have a strong market presence and/or reputational presence among mid and large-sized enterprises. These companies included Barracuda, Check Point, Cisco, Dell (SonicWALL), Fortinet, Juniper, McAfee, Palo Alto, Sophos, and WatchGuard. Champions in the report receive high scores for most evaluation criteria and offer excellent value. They have a strong market presence and are usually the trend setters for the industry.
