Vidhi Data Recovery Lab, a pioneer in complete data recovery solutions, offers expert services, advanced tools, and training, serving public, private, and government sectors across India and abroad. During an exclusive interaction with NCN Magazine, Mr. Jignesh Joshi, Director, and Mr. Dev Joshi of Vidhi Data Recovery Lab,share their journey, expertise, success stories, and future vision in data recovery.

Could you please share your journey in this industry?

Mr. Jignesh Joshi: I have been in the field of data recovery for over thirty years. At Vidhi Data Recovery Lab, we specialize in recovering data from hard disks, memory cards, pen drives, and more. For example, even if a memory card has been formatted from a camera or is not being detected, we use advanced chip-off methods to recover data. Over the years, we’ve built expertise in handling some of the toughest cases.

What kind of cases do you handle most often?

Mr. Jignesh Joshi: Our main focus is on hard disks. Even if a hard disk is not detected, water damaged, or has been burned in a fire, we can still recover the data. Beyond that, we also recover data from ransomware attacks, servers, NAS boxes, and DVRs.

Mr. Dev Joshi: We also deal extensively with SSDs, pen drives, and memory cards. Cases such as formatting, deletion, corruption, or unreadable data are common. We often serve professionals like photographers and chartered accountants, who depend on us when critical data is lost.

What makes Vidhi Data Recovery Lab different from others in the market?

Mr. Jignesh Joshi: One key factor is our dedicated clean room. Hard disks should never be opened in normal environments. At our lab, we have a specialized clean room where we safely perform head replacements and other delicate repairs. This sets us apart because very few labs in India operate at this professional standard.

Mr. Dev Joshi: Another strength is our investment in the latest machines and advanced tools for data recovery. Many providers don’t have access to this level of technology. This allows us to recover data that others might declare impossible.

How successful have you been in recovering data so far?

Mr. Jignesh Joshi: We have successfully recovered data from at least 10,000 hard drives and more than 5,000 memory cards. Our customers come from every corner of India, often sending us damaged media through courier. Once we recover the data, we share it online with them for verification and then securely send back the media.

What is the usual timeline for data recovery?

Mr. Jignesh Joshi: If the media is in good condition, we can recover 2–3 GB of data fairly quickly. Complex cases may take 10–15 days, though we usually try to complete recovery within a week. The timeline depends largely on the condition of the storage device.

Security is a big concern when it comes to data. How do you ensure data safety?

Mr. Jignesh Joshi: That’s a very important point. Customers sometimes worry about data theft, but at Vidhi, data is 100% secure. Our staff has received professional training from original hard drive manufacturers and also specialized training in China. Since all recovery work is performed entirely in-house, there’s no chance of leakage. We take data privacy extremely seriously.

Can you share your future plans for the lab?
Mr. Jignesh Joshi: We are expanding our office next year with new, advanced machines. This will allow us to increase our recovery capacity from 15–20 cases a day to 40–50 cases a day. We are also planning marketing campaigns to reach photographers, CA fairs, and retail stores across India.

What advice would you give to people about data safety?

Mr. Jignesh Joshi: My advice is simple — always take a backup. Many people don’t realize the value of their data until it’s gone. Losing data can feel like losing a part of your life. While we have the technology to recover most cases, prevention is always better than cure.

What key message would you like to share?

Mr. Dev Joshi: Data loss is not the end. With the right expertise and tools, recovery is possible in most cases. Our mission at Vidhi Data Recovery Lab is to give people hope and bring back what they thought was lost forever.
