From humble beginnings with a vision of providing cost-effective IT solutions, the company, founded by Mr. V. K. Bhandari, has evolved into a professionally managed supply chain specialist. Experiencing remarkable growth of approximately 60% over the past five years, Supertron operates nationally with 39 branches, 17 satellite offices, and 27 service locations across 29 states and UTs. With 800 plus employees, the company’s extensive product portfolio includes global brands like Seagate, Dell, Acer, Lenovo, Samsung, and more.
In an exclusive interview with NCN magazine, Mr. Debraj Dam, Chief of Value Added Distribution at Supertron Electronics Pvt Ltd, delved into the brand’s market standing, diverse product portfolio, and prospects. Kindly brief us about your role at Supertron.
We embarked on our journey on July 2, 2009, within the Supertron group. Our primary focus is on enterprise new technology, innovative solutions, and the Indian market. Currently, we are recognized as one of the top 5 national distribution houses in India, distinguishing ourselves as the largest Indian distribution house competing globally.
How do you aim to bridge the gaps between technology, OEMs, partners, and customers?
In our venture, we concentrate on three key domains: audio, video, and surveillance; data center and storage; and the newly added Cloud and Software. Our goal is to equip our OEM customers and partners with the right technology and PCO, ensuring that the products purchased by our customers through our partners effectively connect technology OEMs and end-users.
We are deeply committed to supporting the Indian government’s IT infrastructure and digital transformation initiatives. As a deemed OEM of India, we strive to elevate the Indian industry’s competitiveness globally. We’ve positioned ourselves as a value-added Indian distributor, specializing in niche technologies like data center, networks, and cloud. This provides us with a unique advantage, aligning with Indian sentiments and contributing to employment opportunities and business growth in the IT channel community.
How does Supertron Distribution Venture create new opportunities for its partners?
We focus on delivering solutions rather than just hardware, emphasizing application-based services. Partners benefit from fixed monthly revenues and recurring revenues (MRC and ARC) by collaborating with us.
What opportunities do you see in providing technology solutions in Tier 3 and 4 cities?
The central government’s infrastructure initiatives extend to Tier 2, 3 and 4 cities. We recognize the need for improved technology offerings in these cities and aim to address this gap.
What message would you like to convey to potential partners?
