Silicon Power, founded in 2003, is a global leader in innovative storage solutions, delivering premium flash, SSDs, DRAM, and industrial-grade products worldwide. During an exclusive interaction with NCN Magazine, Mr. Michael Chen, Chairman, Silicon Power shares insights on global strategy, AI integration, and ambitious plans for India.
How is Silicon Power positioning itself globally, and what are your plans for the fast-growing Indian market?
Silicon Power has been in the memory business for over 22 years. We’ve established a strong global presence with four international offices and operations in more than 20 countries. Globally, we’re known for our innovation and reliable memory solutions across multiple verticals.
India, in particular, is a crucial market for us. With its rapid technological advancement and growing demand for storage solutions, we’ve started placing stronger emphasis on our operations there. We are in the process of establishing a dedicated sales office in India. Currently, we have four sales representatives covering key verticals: industrial, gaming, retail, and e-commerce. Our goal is to enhance customer engagement, strengthen brand image, and build long-term relationships in the Indian market.
What technologies or innovations is Silicon Power focusing on in the coming years?
We’re heavily investing in advanced memory and storage technologies with a focus on speed, reliability, and endurance. One major area is our collaboration with embedded system companies, particularly for AI-driven applications. We’re seeing increasing demand from sectors like industrial automation, transportation, and medical equipment. These applications require high-performance, rugged memory solutions, and that’s where Silicon Power is playing a key role.
What role do you see AI playing in the memory segment, and how is Silicon Power aligning with that trend?
AI is a game-changer. It requires vast amounts of memory and efficient storage for real-time data processing. We’re actively collaborating with several Taiwanese companies and industrial solution providers to support AI integration through our high-speed memory modules and SSDs. These are being used in smart factories, intelligent transport systems, and healthcare solutions. We believe AI-driven memory applications will see a major boom by the end of this year and beyond.
What message would you like to give to your Indian customers and viewers?
India has always been important for us, but now we want to take a more focused, long-term approach. Earlier, we were primarily working through distributors. Now, we want to get directly involved—understanding local market needs, serving our partners better, and enhancing our brand visibility.
We’re committed to becoming one of the top three memory brands in India within the next five years. We’re confident and excited about what’s ahead. Thank you for your continued support!
