In an interaction with Teddy Kuo, Co-Founder, QNAP about the latest innovations and company’s  initiatives.

With security & surveillance becoming an important concern for companies as well individuals, the supporting products and technologies such as network attached storage (NAS) and network video recorder (NVR) solutions have become crucial. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Taipei, QNAP delivers its solutions to the global market with the latest innovations.

Teddy Kuo, Co-Founder, QNAP, comments, “We are doing very well in the Indian market at present. Compared to the conditions a few years back, today in India, infrastructure has improved a lot and our storage products in particular need good infrastructure. Digitization is going on a big scale and a fast rate in India at present and that is good for our solutions. Now we are planning to invest more in India and scale up our operations, with main focus on customers in T1 cities. We have lot of products for enterprise and SMB customers who are mostly present in T1 cities. We are focusing mainly on SMBs and enterprises, though we have products for SOHO. SMBs, which form a substantial part of the economy, are very important for a developing country like India and our products offer the latest technology at very cost-effective prices, compared to others.”

QNAP integrates technologies and designs to bring forth quality products that effectively improve business efficiency on file sharing, virtualization applications, storage management and surveillance in the business environments, as well as enrich entertainment life for home users with the offering of a fun multimedia center experience.

On the IoT (Internet of Things) solutions, Teddy Kuo commented, “We have good IoT solutions based on NAS. We started providing small IoT kits for each of the different solutions we provide and these kits help the users understand how to use a particular solution. Our solutions are very effective in automation, office virtualization, etc. For instance, if an enterprise has 20 or 30 locations, our solutions help them to secure their information and integrate. Our solutions are unique because they offer the best features.  Presently for us in India competition is not an issue and also we are not focusing on market share, but our focus is on how to make Indian customers know about our products and technology. Media like magazines are important for us to reach the channel partners and customers.”

During the last 10 years, QNAP has evolved and excelled at hardware design and software engineering, and brought to market numerous remarkable technologies and products ahead in the industry.

“From this year, we have new models before we go with our go-to-the-market. India is more like China in terms like market dynamics and economic growth. Right now we have Iris as our national distributor and then we have regional distributors. We are looking for new partners in India. At Convergence 2017, we could interact with many solution partners and discussed about our IoT solutions, media solutions, etc. We are very optimistic about our future prospects in India. Besides having our own office here, we are planning to increase our manpower and we are going to organize more training programs for the staff as well as partners,” Teddy Kuo added.
