ProDot Group, India’s leading manufacturer of printer cartridges, keyboards, and mice, is now expanding into CCTV, surveillance, and security solutions, driving innovation in India’s manufacturing sector.
During an exclusive interaction with NCN Magazine, Ms. Aarushi Rajpal, Director, ProDot Group, share her insights on innovation, expansion into security solutions, and India’s evolving manufacturing landscape.
What new products do you plan to add to your manufacturing portfolio?
As an India’s leading manufacturer of printer cartridges, keyboards and mice, we are always looking to expand our portfolio. We are now entering an exciting new vertical—CCTV, surveillance, and security solutions. This includes a range of upcoming products such as SMPS, DVR racks, and PoE switches. We believe that the Indian market has a bright future, and with the global shift towards a China-plus-one strategy, India is emerging as a strong and favorable manufacturing hub.

With changing global dynamics, where do you see India positioned in the manufacturing sector?
India is at a very promising juncture. While global political changes, such as the potential return of Trump, may influence trade policies, India remains a key player. Many Indian brands are not just catering to the domestic market but are also making a global footprint. At ProDot, we have been part of this journey, with a strong manufacturing base in Dehradun Industrial Area, spanning nearly one lakh square feet and employing around 500-700 dedicated professionals. Our extensive channel network enables us to sell over 10 million products annually, reinforcing our commitment to quality and scalability.
How do you strategize product launches and expansion into new categories?
Our approach is rational and market-driven. We analyze what products are currently being imported, the associated duties, and the final landing cost in India. If we identify a viable business case, we assess whether we can manufacture the product efficiently using our existing ecosystem. Given our expertise in plastic injection molding and assembling, we can leverage our capabilities to bring new products to market. Tariff structures also play a key role in our decision-making process, ensuring that domestic manufacturing remains a competitive alternative.
What sets ProDot apart from other manufacturers?
Our USP lies in our legacy and experience. We have been in this industry for decades, proving our reliability and ability to adapt to market needs. Our goal is not just to compete but to lead and sustain long-term growth in the industry.
What’s your outlook on the current business environment in India?
It’s a fantastic time for Indian businesses and startups. The ecosystem is thriving, and there’s tremendous scope for innovation. With India becoming a global manufacturing hub, there’s never been a better time to invest in new ideas and ventures. We are excited about the future and look forward to contributing to India’s manufacturing success story.
