In an interaction with NCN, Mr. CALVIN YANG , ASIA SALES Sr. Director , PNY TECHNOLOGIES ASIA Pacific Ltd shares their company’s outlook and strategies for the Indian market.
Mr, Calvin yang shares, “India is growing market and also a big market, and it is an important market for us. In the coming years, gaming will be a major trend in India which is right now our main focus. We are working closely with NVIDIA, Geforce, etc to provide memory solutions for gaming. We support the government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Currently, we are using 85% of the Made in India products, while assembling our solutions in India. In future, we will further enhance our manufacturing and assembling operations in India. Today, everything is Made in China, but in 10 years time, it will be Made in India products everywhere. Right now we are manufacturing pendrives in India and soon we want to start manufacturing SSDs in India. We get some components like ICs from Taiwan before assembling in India. Manufacturing locally and procuring India-made products make things very inexpensive and beneficial for us.”
PNY product portfolio includes a broad assortment of USB flash drives, flash memory cards, PowerPack portable battery chargers for smartphones & tablets, PC memory upgrades, Solid-State Drives (SSDs), cables, adapters, NVIDIA graphics cards and HP flash memory products. With products geared towards mobility, digital imaging, computing and gaming solutions, PNY products function with a wide variety of computer and digital devices to provide a plethora of end-user solutions.
“We are very supportive towards our channel partners and they also support and promote PNY. PNY is a professional in memory segment wide range of products available starting from OEMs, businesses to consumers. We score over our competitors because they do not as wide rage of products as we have,” adds Mr, Calvin yang.
PNY product partners include HP, Lego, NVIDIA and Polaroid, as well as many other private label brands. The company is constantly exploring new options to broaden their product assortment. PNY, with eco-friendly product packaging made from environmentally sustainable materials and printed using soy-based ink, is focused on their global impact and is continuously researching new options. PNY’s new manufacturing facility includes solar panels which generate more than 30% of our power requirements. PNY’s solar panels are in the country’s top 10 for privately owned rooftop installations.
Regarding their future plans, Mr, Calvin yang clarifies, “Our future focus in India will be on further expanding our consumer solutions. In the year 2018, we have plans to launch memory products for smartphones and smart applications. PNY is a well-known brand globally and we have great expectations from the Indian market.”
