Compass-Supertron Organised Blood Donation Camp on World Blood Donors Day as CSR activity

On the World Blood Donors Day Computer Association of Eastern India (COMPASS) and Supertron Electronics Pvt Ltd (SUPERTRON) has organized Blood Donation Camp as their CSR project with the support of Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, West Bengal at CMDA hall, 8 Bow Street, Kolkata -700012.

Atin Ghosh, Dy. Mayor of KMDA inaugurated the camp with V. K. Bhandari (CMD) Supertron and other COMPASS officials. The camp was from 10 A.M. morning to 5 P.M. in the evening, more than 260 person has donated the Blood which is very good and rare according to the Blood bank officials.

Every year India requires about five Crore units of blood, out of which only a meager 2.5 Crore units of blood are available. In our country, around 75% of this collection comes through voluntary donations. In West Bengal, forerunner in national blood donation movement, 85% of its that is around 13 lakh units of annual demand comes from donation camps. This year the hosting country of World Blood Donors Day is Rwanda and the theme is ‘Safe Blood for All.’
