During an exclusive interaction with NCN Magazine, Mr. Sanjiv Kela, Director, Net Protector Antivirus (Biz Secure Labs Pvt Ltd), shares insights on Indian cybersecurity, AI threats, innovation, and digital security.
Net Protector Antivirus has been in the industry for three decades. How has the journey evolved?
We have been doing R&D for nearly 30 years, with a clear focus on developing reliable cybersecurity solutions in India. Earlier, antivirus products were largely brought from outside India. Today, we are proud to develop our own antivirus solutions here. Our products meet international standards and have earned international certifications.
What has been the response to NPAV across India?
The response has been extremely encouraging. Our products are now being used across cities, towns and even small villages. A large number of Indian customers trust NPAV, and many existing users continue to appreciate the product’s quality, reliability and performance. This trust motivates us to keep improving.
Are you now expanding beyond individual consumers?
We are increasingly focusing on enterprises and large organizations. Today, our solutions are being adopted by corporate customers as well as government organizations. We are strengthening our presence in the enterprise cybersecurity segment and developing solutions suited to the needs of larger businesses.
Why has cybersecurity become so important for Indian industries?
Almost every modern industry depends on computers and digital systems. If these systems are compromised, business operations and growth can be seriously affected. Cybersecurity is therefore no longer optional; it has become a critical part of protecting businesses, infrastructure and data.
How do you see AI changing the cybersecurity landscape?
AI is bringing tremendous opportunities, but it can also create new security challenges. We need to be prepared for the possibility of AI being used to attack systems, compromise data or strengthen cyber threats. This makes it essential to develop stronger cybersecurity solutions that can protect digital infrastructure against evolving threats.
What role can Indian companies play in strengthening cybersecurity?
India has strong talent, technology and innovation capabilities. Government-led research and development initiatives are also helping advance cybersecurity. Indian companies should continue creating world-class products for Indian users while also looking at global markets.
What is your message about Make in India?
Indian customers should have confidence in capable Indian brands. When we develop and use quality products made in India, more value remains within the country. At the same time, we should aim to export Indian technology globally. Strong domestic consumption combined with exports can contribute significantly to India’s economic growth.
What is your vision for the future of NPAV?
Our vision is to continue building high-quality, internationally competitive cybersecurity solutions from India. We want NPAV to contribute to a safer digital India while demonstrating that Indian technology can compete confidently on the global stage.
