We just entered this A4 Printer segment. In India, printer segment is dominated by big brands such as HP, Canon, Xerox, Brother, Epson, etc some of whom have been here for decades. We launched our first printer only in 2010 but still we could gain strong foothold in the Indian market.
We have been getting tremendous response to our printers from the customers and we are sure that we are going to dominate this A4 segment in the coming years. Our pagepro1580MF is of excellent quality with high efficiency. Furthermore, our printer is 25%-30% less expensive compared to the printers with similar specs available in the market. We want to bring a revolution in the A4 monochrome and color printing segment in India. We are sure we are going dominate this segment in the coming years. Our main target will be SME, SOHO and small corporate.” Balakrishnan, EGM Marketing, Konica Minolta, pointed out that the company has been doing well even though there is a general economic slowdown. “Our competitive price range and the high quality have helped us win the customer’s confidence and establish our brand.
We always focus on customer requirements and strive to work closely with our customers. This is our differentiator and has helped us to build quickly the channel network & address the market. Even though a good market share is important for us, right now our main focus is not market share; we want to expand our reach and logistics first. We have nearly 2000 partners operating in 25 regions across India. Initially we want to use this network to make our printer available at all the corners and regions.” Kuldeep Malhotra, EGM Sales, Sales & Managing Division, Konica Minolta, Said, “In the calendar year 2013, the company has achieved market share of 27% in A3 color printers, 17% in the A3 monochrome printers and almost 50% in the production printers market.
Today, a lot of partners are not happy with most of the printer vendors in terms of margins and service. So we are mainly focusing on those partners to promote our printers. Since our printers are less expensive for the end customers and our margins for partners are high. Further, our printers are more efficient, reliable and are of high quality supported by excellent after sales service. So we are sure that we will soon dominate the A4 segment in particular.”
