How TechnoBind is performing in the cloud space?

TechnoBind is one of the only specialist technology distributors in the country having a dedicated BU for the cloud and data management space. We have just started on our cloud journey – the agenda is to help customers adopt cloud. In that direction we are going into the market focusing on low hanging workloads – specifically security and backup. In the last 6 months we have been primarily concentrating on getting the resources on board and our practice ready. This focused business unit is to give us a more concerted and sustainable approach to the cloud market.

What are the emerging opportunities for partners in cloud space?

According to Gartner, the worldwide public cloud services market is projected to grow 18% in 2017 to $246.8 billion. Nearly 70 percent of the companies we spoke to have either adopted or have adoption of enterprise cloud in their roadmap. This can be seen as a huge opportunity for partners to transform their own businesses and help their customers in the adoption of cloud services. However, there is also the lack of understanding about new technologies in the industry and this is restricting organisations to go for cloud adoption. IT decision makers find it difficult to build a business case around such technologies. This is in fact a great opportunity for the cloud-savvy partners. If they can reset their way of doing business, Cloud adoption & migration offer great prospect to the channel for their inherent strength is their customer reach.

What are the solution provided by TechnoBind for data management and protection?

Data has become one of the major assets for any organization today, and with today’s focus on cloud and mobility, this poses many challenges as well some new opportunities. What are the opportunities for partners in DR as a service?

Last year saw an unprecedented rise in growth of Backup and DR-as-a-service. Organizations are looking to simplify IT management by optimising some of their key IT functions – starting with Backup and DR. Backup and DR as a Service is fast gaining momentum as a workload that customers are moving to cloud. With DR solutions, migration of data from the primary data centre to the Cloud DR site is no more a hassle. According to a research study by Markets&Markets, the Disaster Recovery as a Service Market will be is estimated to be $11.92 Billion in 2020. Vendors as well as channel partners are constantly looking at the growing demand from SMBs in Backup as. This year has seen most ransomware attacks worldwide and this also revealed that most of the organisations are not prepared for these kinds of unforeseen incidents. It is also now well known that Backup is only sure shot way of protecting against ransomware. This again provides opportunity for partners to help customers adopt cloud through this Backup workload.

What are your future plans?

We will continue to focus on bringing new technologies and solutions from leading vendors to our channel in India. Next step is to help partners help manage their customers’ cloud instances – whether AWS, Azure or even O365. Security for Cloud is also another area where you will see us taking solutions into the market.
