In an interaction with  Chandrahas Panigrahi, CMO & Consumer Business Head, Acer India, about the digital India mission and Acer’s policy regarding digital drive.

What is the overall performance of Acer during the lockdown period?

At Acer, we have kept ourselves prepared and retained performance at a multitude level for the well-being of people connected to us. Be in the arena of managing employees & related optimization, communicating transparently with customers, variety of stress-reducing methodologies, churning out the best digital strategies for customers and partners, etc. The positive aspect is laptop is becoming an integral part of the new normal as people work, learn, game and stay connected from home

Do you think Covid-19 gives a boost to Digital India Mission? Please explain it.

As a matter of fact, the Covid-19 outbreak is helping the Centre’s vision of Digital India. Many say that COVID-19 is the biggest driver for digital transformation across the globe and especially in India where companies, educational institutions, households, and individuals quickly adapted the digital way of life. This is the perfect boost for the Indian government for the Digital India Mission and with the right push India can transform itself into a digital-first country

What are the initiatives Acer has taken regarding Digital drive? What are the new digital innovations we’re expecting from Acer?

As a technology giant, at Acer, we have introduced a variety of digital solutions during this lockdown period while we are leveraging our E-store to further accelerate our omnichannel journey. This service has been designed to bring affluence in contactless home delivery solutions from partners to customers. Our e-store is also serving a lot of business customers to get the critical IT infrastructure to keep the business running and with options like pay when a shipment is ready during the lockdown 1 and 2 phase we were able to ensure our customers got priority access.

We are also empowering teachers through our partnership with Indian Principals’ Network (IPN) reaching to over 4500+ schools to equip teachers with laptop and tablet solutions so they can focus on shaping the next generation of the country without disruption.

How did you strengthen the channel ecosystems?

Being one of the top ICT companies, at Acer, we always deem towards the growth of our channel partners. Collaboration, Innovation, and Upskilling are the aspects we look forward to a successful channel amalgamation. As always, we support them by introducing new inventive and interactive measures. To take collaboration to the next level, we are working with our partners on regular basis to be more connected and helping them in their strategies through exercises such as holding joint webinar sessions, video conferencing, appropriate communication, etc. to connect with their audience. To offer the best, during this challenging time, Acer has come up with an Omni-channel solution that has been designed to help channel partners serve the customers with an integrated experience by connecting at multiple touchpoints to provide a seamless experience. This helps channel partners connect with their customers on a frequent basis while serving them with essential technological requirements and the option of contactless home deliveries. The service comes with a unified and contextual customer experience through the Acer e-store platform. The Omnichannel program has been planned to modernize the basic needs in order to boost up the company’s overall business.

What are the key priorities of Acer India in the year 2020?

With businesses, education, entertainment, and connectivity all depended on a strong IT backbone in the new world, PCs will play a critical role in transforming lives and ensuring the world remains productive, connected, and minimize disruption. As a technology leader, we feel we have an important role to play and we are concentrating all our efforts to ensure we serve our customers’ needs and help them thrive with our solutions.
