GIGABYTE, one of the earliest server partners to develop AMD EPYC solutions, launches 3rd Gen AMD EPYC Server Solutions at Computex 2021. It is poised to offer a complete line of EPYC servers for all workloads. Having up to 64 cores makes the EPYC an excellent choice for High Performance Computing (HPC), especially because of the increase in I/O and memory bandwidth.

Mr Hoshino Akira, Server Product Planning & Sttrategy Gigabyte, says, “Ampere Altra is the most important solution for ARM server. Altra’s LGA socket is a very good version from previous ARM64 solutions. It’s user-friendly and performance optimized for customers. AI, IoT, 5G, edge computing, HPC, gaming, and new innovations are changing the world.”

Adding Ampere’s Altra processor, using Arm, to GIGABYTE’s server portfolio offers another platform choice besides x86. Ampere Altra offers greater performance and power-efficiency and fits easily into GIGABYTE’s server design. The new evolution in chip design allows for greater performance at lower TCO because the same amount of jobs will be done with less number of nodes. Also, as server workflow continues to evolve, a system can be easily adapted to support new demands.

MP32-AR1 has a single socket Ampere Altra Processor, 8-Channel RDIMM/LRDIMM DDR4, 16 x DIMMs, 2 x 1Gb/s LAN ports (Intel I350-AM2), 1 x Dedicated management port, 8 x 2.5″ SATA/SAS hot-swappable HDD/SSD bays, 2 x Ultra-Fast M.2 with PCIe Gen4 x4 interface,  6 x low profile PCIe Gen4 expansion slots,  Aspeed® AST2500 management controller,  800W 80 PLUS Platinum redundant power supply

GIGABYTE is one of the earliest server partners to develop AMD EPYC solutions. With the launch of 3rd Gen AMD EPYC, GIGABYTE is poised to offer a complete line of servers for all workloads. Having up to 64 cores makes the AMD EPYC an excellent choice for High Performance Computing (HPC), especially because of the increase in I/O and memory bandwidth. GIGABYTE AMD EPYC servers are perfect for the cloud as more requests can be done at the same time while keeping the power consumption more or less the same. In Edge Computing, AMD EPYC servers have low latency while maintaining high performance value. So, many workload scenarios will benefit having the AMD EPYC architecture in GIGABYTE servers.
