esconet_sunilOver the years, Esconet has crossed several landmarks, such as becoming the authorized System Integrator of D-Link in 1997, winning Intel’s IPP status in 2000, tying up with Cisco in 2001 & with Ramco Systems for selling their e-applications and VirtualWorks ERP solutions in 2004.

Esconet Technologies Pvt Ltd was incepted in 1975 as a marketing company under its name Electro Sales Corporation. Today, they operate as Systems Integrators providing complete IT solutions covering enterprise hardware, software and Internet-related solutions (hosting, cloud and SaaS). Over the years, Esconet has crossed several landmarks, such as becoming the authorized System Integrator of D-Link in 1997, winning Intel’s IPP status in 2000, tying up with Cisco in 2001 & with Ramco Systems for selling their e-applications and VirtualWorks ERP solutions in 2004.

Today Esconet is a dynamic and vibrant company with over Rs 25 crore turnovers with a consistent annual growth of 40%-50%. Sunil Agrawal, Director, Esconet Technologies
says, “We are basically System Integrators. Our main focus is on datacenter, security, virtualization and ERP and these are our core areas. We design
and provide servers to the companies according to their capacity needs, such as for 100, 200,300, or so users we provide di erent servers. We also have Marino Cloud, our own cloud service where we provide backup and Data Recovery. We are not providing PCs and Notebooks.”

Esconet’s major customers include Amity University, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, and ONGC among others, to whom they provide complete solutions. “We are successful in ful lling in our customer requirements and our customers have been with us for the past 10-12 years,” Sunil adds. Esconet is also into selling rugged industrial PCs. Rugged PC market is a niche market. Rugged PCs are made for those who work in rough conditions where the PCs have to withstand physical pressures such as jolts, shakes, wear, tear and sometimes even falls due to slips. Rugged PCs are made speci cally to withstand physical forces and impacts. Rugged PCs need less servicing
but they are priced high and a lot technical knowhow is needed to market those products.

Earlier Esconet were authorized distributors of Lancer Electronics for their rugged PCs,before Lancer wound up India operations in 2006 due to their own internal reasons. Telecom companies are the major buyers of rugged PCs.Sunil states, “As long as we continued withLancer as distributors, our relationship was good and fruitful. At present, for rugged PCs,we have tie-ups with Evoc, iBase, and Axiomtek. However, rugged PCs form only a fraction of our business; our main focus is on IT solutions
and we are doing pretty well on that front.” For providing servers, Esconet has a tieup with Intel; for networking, it is with Cisco; for storage we tied up with EMC; and for virtualization they have a tie-up with VMware. VSPEX is a co-brand of EMC and Esconet, where there they provide storage solutions including virtual stack, storage stack and compute stack.About channel, Sunil adds, “We do not employ channel partners to promote our products, because our products and services are such we
need to be in direct interaction with our clients.”

Regarding future plan, Sunil Opines,“Services sector will see substantial growth.
We are expecting cloud market to grow at the rate of 200%-300% per year and we have
high expectations for our cloud business. We also expect our System Integration business to continue to grow at 40%-50% for the next 5 years.”
