Additionally, the revised AI advisory by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) emphasizes transparency, content moderation, consent mechanisms, and deepfake identification to ensure responsible AI deployment and safeguard electoral integrity.
Furthermore, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act sets forth strict data governance standards, requiring organizations to clearly explain how they collect, process, and utilize data through AI systems. As international AI regulations, such as the EU’s AI Act, establish standards, Indian companies need to proactively integrate compliance into their AI development processes. This includes performing thorough impact assessments, keeping comprehensive records of AI activities, and ensuring that decisions affecting individuals are understandable. By aligning with these emerging regulations, organizations not only mitigate legal risks but also position themselves as frontrunners in the ethical adoption of AI.
