Consistent Infosystems is a leading provider of IT hardware products, Networking & Surveillance products, Print consumables products, and Electronics & Gaming Segment products in India. During an exclusive interaction with NCN Magazine, Mr. Yogesh Agrawal, CMD & Co-Founder, shares his insights with special focus on the security & surveillance market in India, the related Consistent’s security product-line, and their future plans.
What are the latest technology and market trends in the Security & Surveillance and CCTV cameras space in India? How is AI impacting this space?
The surveillance industry in India has evolved significantly over the last few years. Earlier, CCTV cameras were mainly used to record incidents, but today customers expect much more from their security systems. They want intelligent surveillance that can monitor, analyse and send alerts in real time.
AI has completely changed the way surveillance systems operate. Features such as human detection, vehicle recognition, facial recognition, motion analytics and smart alerts are making security solutions far more accurate while reducing false alarms. AI is helping users move from reactive monitoring to proactive security.
We are also witnessing growing demand for Wi-Fi cameras, 4G cameras, smart video doorbells and cloud-connected surveillance solutions across homes, offices, retail outlets and industries. Going forward, surveillance will become even more intelligent, connected and easier to manage remotely.
What is your current Security & Surveillance product-line and how did you fare in this segment in the last 12 months?
Over the past year, we have significantly strengthened our surveillance portfolio. Today, our offerings include Wi-Fi cameras, 4G cameras, smart dome cameras, mini robot cameras, video doorbells, NVRs, DVRs, PoE switches, CCTV power solutions, and newly introduced analog PT cameras. We are also expanding our analog surveillance portfolio with several new products that will be introduced in the coming months. Our objective has always been to offer customers a complete surveillance ecosystem rather than just individual products.
We have received BIS-ER certification for our 4G and Wi-Fi camera series, reinforcing our commitment to delivering compliant and high-quality surveillance solutions. We are currently awaiting BIS-ER certification for our IP camera range, which will further strengthen our portfolio. In the meantime, we have expanded our offerings by introducing Analog PT Cameras and are further strengthening our analog surveillance portfolio with several new products launching in the coming months to address diverse customer requirements.
The last twelve months have been very encouraging for us. We have seen healthy growth across both consumer and commercial segments, with particularly strong demand from SMEs, retail businesses, educational institutions, and residential users. Our expanding distribution network, competitive pricing, and focus on product quality have further strengthened our presence, especially in Tier II and Tier III markets.
How does the government’s policy to allow only STQC-certified products to be sold in India affect the brands and the market?
I believe this is a very positive and much-needed step for the surveillance industry. STQC certification establishes a strong benchmark for product quality, cybersecurity, and reliability, which is critical because surveillance systems handle sensitive data and play an important role in public and private security.
At Consistent Infosystems, we have introduced STQC-certified CCTV cameras, reflecting our commitment to delivering secure, high-quality, and government-compliant surveillance solutions. Having STQC-certified products in our portfolio has enabled us to align with the latest regulatory requirements while giving customers greater confidence in the performance and security of our solutions.
While achieving STQC certification requires significant investment in product development, testing, and validation, we see it as a worthwhile investment that raises industry standards and promotes fair competition based on quality rather than price alone.
We believe the government’s STQC mandate will encourage greater investment in local R&D, secure technologies, and compliant manufacturing practices, ultimately benefiting the entire surveillance ecosystem. It will also strengthen India’s domestic manufacturing capabilities, enabling the country to increasingly meet its own surveillance product demand while ensuring customers have access to trusted, high-quality security solutions.
How is your domestic manufacturing progressing? Brief us about your differentiators as a brand and certifications you have in this space.
Domestic manufacturing continues to be a major focus area for us. We are steadily strengthening our manufacturing capabilities while ensuring our products comply with the latest government regulations.
One of our biggest strengths is that we offer a complete range of surveillance solutions backed by strong nationwide service and channel support. We focus on delivering reliable products with practical features that meet the needs of Indian customers.
From a compliance perspective, we have received BIS-ER certification for several models in our 4G and Wi-Fi camera portfolio, all of which are manufactured in India. We are also actively working towards expanding our STQC-certified product range. In addition, our upcoming IP camera range will also be manufactured in India, further reinforcing our commitment to the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Our goal is not just to comply with regulations but to build products that customers can trust.
What opportunities and challenges do you see in this space and how do you respond to them?
India’s surveillance market offers tremendous opportunities, driven by smart city projects, infrastructure development, commercial security requirements, and growing awareness among residential users.
At the same time, the industry is evolving rapidly. Customer expectations are rising, technology is advancing quickly, and compliance requirements are becoming more stringent. While the opportunities are significant, one of the key challenges is that the domestic manufacturing ecosystem for surveillance products is still evolving and will take time to develop. Brands need to innovate continuously while maintaining quality, affordability, and strong after-sales support.
At Consistent Infosystems, we view these developments as opportunities to innovate. We continue to invest in product development, strengthen our distribution network, and work closely with our partners to deliver solutions that meet the evolving needs of the market.
What is your distribution model and how do you educate and motivate your partners?
Our business is built on a strong network of distributors, dealers, retailers, installers, and system integrators spread across the country. They play a vital role in taking our products to customers.
We believe that product knowledge is just as important as product availability. That’s why we regularly conduct dealer meets, installer training programmes, technical workshops, and live product demonstrations. We have also recently established a dedicated training division focused on educating our distributors and channel partners about our products and solutions. In addition, for over a year, we have been conducting monthly online training sessions to keep our partners updated on the latest technologies and product developments. We have also launched the Surveillance Installer Training Program, a structured course designed to enhance the technical skills and expertise of installers across our partner network.
Along with training, we also support our partners through marketing initiatives, technical assistance, and attractive business opportunities. We believe long-term relationships are built through continuous engagement and mutual growth.
What new products do you plan to bring out in the near future?
Innovation continues to be one of our key priorities. In the coming months, we plan to expand our surveillance portfolio with next-generation AI-enabled IP cameras, higher-resolution security cameras, and more STQC-compliant products.
We are also strengthening our presence in emerging categories such as smart video doorbells, dash cameras, and solar-powered surveillance solutions, which are witnessing increasing demand across both residential and commercial segments. As part of this expansion, we are introducing solar panels that can convert compatible cameras into solar-powered cameras, along with new Analog PT cameras and video doorbells to cater to evolving customer requirements.
Our goal is to develop products that combine intelligent technology, ease of use, and dependable security while complying with the latest regulatory standards. We remain committed to introducing innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of customers and the growing security landscape.
