As India moves toward a digital economy, the amount of data being consumed at home, at business and on the go is growing exponentially. As connectivity becomes an even greater part of daily life, bandwidth demands will only continue to increase. In support of enterprise and network operators, CommScope is manufacturing innovative network infrastructure solutions to transport large amounts of data very quickly and reliably.

CommScope’s long-standing manufacturing facility in Goa produces base station antennas, microwave antennas and fibre connectivity in support of India’s and the world’s wireless, telecom, broadband and enterprise network operators. CommScope is also helping India’s transformation into a global design and manufacturing hub with the expansion of its research and development (R&D) footprint in Goa.

“As India moves toward a 21st century digital economy, access to reliable and seamless connectivity has never been more important. CommScope is well positioned to address these bandwidth needs through network technology that includes outdoor cellular towers infrastructure, small cells, distributed antenna systems, fibre optic connectivity and data centre infrastructure,” said Gavin Milton-White, Vice President, Enterprise, Asia Pacific, CommScope. “As CommScope celebrates 20 years of manufacturing innovation in India, we are showcasing not only innovative network infrastructure solutions but also local design capabilities which enable us to respond to global bandwidth needs to help our partners and customers meet consumers’ appetite for quality and convenience.”

India is adding almost 110 million smartphone users every year, modernising its tax system and investing in infrastructure with the aim of becoming a trillion dollar digital and Information Technology (IT) industry by 2022. CommScope views India’s growth as an opportunity to develop and test technology that will help in its drive to add greater automation to its global manufacturing network and support its operations workforce in improving quality, efficiency and speed.

“With one of the world’s youngest workforces, India is going to play a pivotal role in shaping the Fourth Industrial Revolution agenda. The Fourth Industrial Revolution can help India leapfrog traditional phases of development and accelerate its transition to a developed nation,” said Navin Vohra, vice president, Service Provider, Asia Pacific, CommScope. “CommScope’s Goa operations align with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, helping to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub.”
