Computer and Media Dealers Association (CMDA Pune) is the premier IT dealers’ association, uniting resellers through trust, growth, and strong industry leadership. During an exclusive interaction with NCN Magazine, Mr. Narendra Bheda, Past President, CMDA Pune; and Mr. Ciba Pathak, Secretary, CMDA Pune, share key insights on CMDA IT Expo 2026, B2B growth, cloud-AI innovation, unity, and arbitration.
How has CMDA IT Expo benefited the IT community this year?
Mr. Narendra Bheda: CMDA IT Expo has brought everyone to one centralized place. JW Marriott is a perfect venue because it is convenient for both East and West Pune, and it helped us cater strongly to areas like PCMC, Viman Nagar, and West Pune. The response has been extremely positive. Around 1800 visitors came, including several outstation associations. We ensure their complete comfort—arrival support, freshen-up arrangements, and food. Most visitors are our association members, and I’m happy to share that all exhibitors are very satisfied with the engagement.
What was special about the Award Night Stall this time?
Mr. Narendra Bheda: This year, we gave a dedicated printing technology stall to our Award Night partner. We partnered with Verbatim, a company with a strong legacy of around 30 years. Their stall reflected how multiple products are interconnected today—solutions like multi-display connectivity, front and back display integration, converters in between, and more. This shows how product ecosystems are evolving, and our Expo featured several such impressive technologies.
What new technologies will visitors see in future CMDA Expos?
Mr. Narendra Bheda: The future is clearly moving towards AI. This year, our stage theme was cloud, and next time we will advance to AI-focused technology. Our goal is not only to display new innovations but also to transfer the technology understanding to dealers, so they can grow confidently with the changing market.
Can you share highlights of this year’s IT Expo edition?
Mr. Ciba Pathak: This is CMDA’s 28th IT Expo, and our focus has always been B2B—business to business. Like every year, we brought innovative technology, but this year our major focus was Cloud, Cloud and AI. Along with IT vendors, we also welcomed security, power, and AV vendors, who showcased their latest innovations. I am proud to say that 3 to 4 new products were launched during the Expo, and I sincerely thank all vendors and principal companies who continue to believe in IT Expo.
How strong was participation from across Maharashtra?
Mr. Ciba Pathak: The response has been incredible. We had 1000+ upcountry members visit from across Maharashtra. Nearly 25 to 27 associations participated this year. Along with them, we also received great support from Pune’s local visitors. We are expecting nearly 5000+ total visitors this year, which reflects the trust and recognition CMDA IT Expo carries.
What’s CMDA Pune’s initiative towards arbitration and unity among associations?
Mr. Ciba Pathak: Arbitration is a key focus. This year, CMDA created a strong platform where 27 associations came together—presidents and secretaries on one stage. Different associations have their own value, but being on a common platform strengthens the industry even more. We have taken a meaningful initiative where all associations came together for the arbitration handshake, covering financial and mutual resolution processes. We proudly call them “27 brothers”, and interestingly Maharashtra’s GST code also starts with 27—so it’s symbolic that we are moving towards unity and strength.
